L'Isle sur la Sorgue, Tour de France, Lavender

If you are just joining me, I am sharing pictures of our
20th wedding anniversary trip from this summer.
We visited the outdoor market in l'Isle sur la Sorgue.
  This place was incredible!
I can't even begin to tell you how much fun this was.
My senses were definitely delighted with all the
sights, smells, sounds, textures and yummy food!

This is an old waterwheel covered in moss.

What a fun way to spend the morning!
So glad we visited!
----------------

My man wanted to see the Tour de France.
He loves to bike, so this part of the trip was his thing!
We left l'Isle sur la Sorge with this to eat for lunch...
And drove by beautiful scenes like this...
We arrived to our location and had to hike a bit up a hill.
It was super hot.
There were cherry trees all around us,
we waited...
and waited...
and waited...
and I forgot sunscreen...
look at that red shoulder:(

and we finally see them coming...

the parade arrives first
and then lots of bikers going very fast...
Mr. Tidy was one happy dude!
----------------
After the tour de France, we drove to see the lavender fields.
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to see the lavender fields in Provence.
Purple is my favorite color, so seeing this was such a treat!

Senanque Abbey, near Gordes

little snails were everywhere:)

After leaving the Senanque Abbey, we drove by Gordes...
When we got back to St. Remy that night,
we watched the running of the bulls for Bastille day.
Such a fun night!
I miss St. Remy.
The pretty plane trees...

and that midnight blue sky...

leaving the next day to get on the train to go to Nice...
Very tired at this point of our trip, but very excited to see Nice!
Tune in soon for our trip to Nice!

St. Remy

I fell in love.  Totally in love.  With St. Remy.
The golden light during the day, the midnight blue skies at night,
the delicious food, the history,
and the welcoming community all contribute to this amazing place.

This was our sweet ride!
We stayed at Sous les Figuiers.
This is the view of our adorable courtyard...
It had a purple umbrella:)

They served the most amazing breakfast at our hotel.

Love these little flowers.

We went on the most incredible wine tour.  So much fun!
I learned a lot, and the wineries were absolutely beautiful!
Our tour started in Avignon.

The first winery we visited was The Alpilles au Chateau Romanin
 Domaine de la Vallongue...

Domaine de Valdition...

 Chateau d' Estoublon...

We had lunch here...
can you say yum!

The wine tour was really fun!  Love this picture from that day:)

We visited Les Baux-de-Provence.

Our favorite restaurant in St. Remy was La Cantina.
We ate there several times.
The food was spectacular!  And the owners are great, too!
And, of course, we had to stop and take pictures in a sunflower field.

The plane trees in St. Remy are just gorgeous!

Walking around St. Remy is breathtaking.
A few pics for you...

I love all the pretty blue shutters...

Totally love this...

Beautiful screen door.

This was outside one of the shops...so very cute!

I'm guessing you can see why I loved St. Remy so very much!
It is truly such a beautiful place!
Can't wait to visit again!
